Traynor-Lang, Jovita '60 JOVITA (TRAYNOR) LANG

After graduation I worked for several months at the Enid Public Library.  I married Joe Lang (my high school sweetheart) the following November.  We will celebrate our 50th anniversary this year.  We moved to our present location several months after we were married.
Joe and I are still very active in farming and ranching.  We raise wheat, corn and milo and handle about 800 head of cattle each year with the help of two full time employees.
We have a son Tim and a daughter-in-law Cindy who live in Enid.  They have our two precious grandchildren.  First grandchild Katy recently graduated from OSU and second grandchild Michael just finished his sophomore year at OSU.
Being a farm wife has been a wonderful  and challenging experience.
I  taught Sunday school at the North Garland Church of Christ for 38 yrs.  I am very active in a HCE  (home, community, education) group and am currently serving as president.  We do projects for our local school and community.  I have been an active Hospice volunteer for thirteen years, and have helped organize the past several class reunions.
I had many wonderful experiences growing up in the Enid school system.  I will always be grateful for the many dedicated teachers  that worked so hard.
I spent five years at Jackson school.  Learned many life lessons there.  Connie (Mauck) Wright and I became best friends.  Sixth grade I transferred to Garfield and Judy (Coker) Lippard became a very dear friend.  Then   on to Longfellow and Karen (Erickson) Large and Sharon (Erickson) Faulkner became dear friends.  The five of us all married  within six months and all stayed married to the same person until the untimely death of Karen in 2000.  The remaining  three of us I still consider very dear friends.
Life has been good. I try to enjoy and appreciate every day.
Hopefully we will have a memorable and enjoyable 50th reunion I
