Arnold, Brian

Arnold, Brian '60BRIAN ARNOLD

Following school, my life has been a simple one.  A tour in the Navy; four
years in the Oklahoma National Guard; 4-1/2 years working for Haney
Brother’s Electric; almost 23 years working for Baker Wholesale, 17 of
those years as a traveling salesman selling plumbing and well supplies,
designing heating and air conditioning layouts for home and light
commercial business buildings until they closed their doors in Enid in 1990.

Following an 18 month self-imposed vacation, I worked as a floor salesman
for Athey Lumber Company for 3 years, then back to Winnelson Wholesale
Plumbing, then on to the United States Postal Service for the past 16+
years, (9 years 4 months part-time and 5 years 7 month full-time).

I intend to work for another 3 years at least.
I should mention 1 marriage in 1964, 2 children (the oldest killed in a motorcycle accident).  The second marriage of 30+ years to Sue (Lukenbaugh) Campbell a 1959 graduate.

My hobby is genealogy research.

The best of all of this, we are DEBT FREE.

Silberberger Wyant, Diane

Silberberger-Hutton, Diane '60DIANE (SILBERBERGER) WYANT

After graduation I attended Monticello College, Alton, Illinois for a year.  I then returned to Enid and graduated from Enid Business College in 1963 with a degree in Accounting.  I was employed in Enid then in OKC, where I met and married Jim Wyant.  We had two children, Tiffany, now a CPA and Controller of Nestle Purina, and Eddie, now the District Attorney over Ottawa and Washita Counties in Oklahoma.  Jim and I divorced and I moved back to Enid to raise the children.  I was employeed with The City of Enid for 13 years.  In 1987 I moved to Las Vegas, Nv. where my sister Vicki lives.  While there I worked for Statistical Tabulation Corporation ( a computerized accounting and payroll firm).  I lived there until 1991 when I moved back to Enid .  I then went to work for Nickell Drug as an Office Manager/ Bookkeeper, and also became a Pharmacy Tech while there. I worked there until the store closed in 2002.   I am currently working when needed at my church, Emmanuel Baptist.  I work in the nursery and with missions.  I also work there on Friday’s for Friday School.  I am currently active in Red Hat, Bible study and Enid Senior Center.

Now in the senior period of my life, I found that I was full of knowledge, information and experiences, and time to allow myself along with my sisters to create SOLOW the card game of the twenty-first century.  A few years ago we were all three together and decided since we had played games and cards our entire life, we wanted to create a game of our own.  We realized we wanted a simple yet challenging, fast and fun game that anyone could play.  After a couple of years of research, a lot of e-mails, and much testing we realized we had a game.  This year we decided to bring it out to the public and see if anyone would like it.  We are on our second mass order and continue to expand our exposure.  Our website where you may purchase the game is cardgamesandmore.com.

The game has taken off and we are working on the website constantly  We are working on other card games which we hope to have out in the near future.

Who said Retirement is boring????

Watkins Misner, Joyce

Watkins-Misner, Joyce '60JOYCE (WATKINS) MISNER

After graduation, I attended Enid Business College and graduated in June, 1961 with a Secretarial Degree.   I worked as an office secretary for many years until deciding to be a stay at home Mom.

Gary and I were married in October of 1961 and were blessed with two wonderful  sons, Timothy in 1964 and Michael in 1968. As parents, we did the typical things during their growing up years, baseball, music lessons, cub scouts, band parents, etc.  Since we never left Enid, both sons  graduated from EHS.  Our oldest, Timothy, is currently working in Civil Service and has completed his Bachelors and Masters degrees in Science. He is the father of our two grandsons and grandfather of our 3 precious great -grandchildren. Our youngest, Michael, completed his Bachelor of Music Education degree in 1991, Masters of Music degree in 1993 and Doctor of Musical Arts degree in 2001.  In 2009 he completed  his Associates degree in Applied Science with a Network Engineering option and is currently working in the IT field.  He is still loving his music and  performing as Principal Horn for the Enid Symphony.

After 32 years as Director of Materiels Management at Integris Bass Memorial Baptist Hospital, Gary retired in 2002. He has enjoyed being home and working in the yard.  We also decided to take Country and Western dance lessons and eventually did some teaching.  As for me, I have enjoyed participating in my church activities over the years, teaching children’s choirs, singing in the Praisinger’s Sanctuary Choir,  playing in the Praisringer’s Handbell Choir and helping coordinate our annual Christmas pageant.

Gary and I will be married 62 years in October, 2023.   The years have gone by so quickly but I am grateful to the Lord for his blessing on my life.  I am looking forward to seeing everyone at our 63rd reunion and renewing old friendships.  See you in September.

Traynor, Lang Jovita

Traynor-Lang, Jovita '60 JOVITA (TRAYNOR) LANG

After graduation I worked for several months at the Enid Public Library.  I married Joe Lang (my high school sweetheart) the following November.  We will celebrate our 50th anniversary this year.  We moved to our present location several months after we were married.
Joe and I are still very active in farming and ranching.  We raise wheat, corn and milo and handle about 800 head of cattle each year with the help of two full time employees.
We have a son Tim and a daughter-in-law Cindy who live in Enid.  They have our two precious grandchildren.  First grandchild Katy recently graduated from OSU and second grandchild Michael just finished his sophomore year at OSU.
Being a farm wife has been a wonderful  and challenging experience.
I  taught Sunday school at the North Garland Church of Christ for 38 yrs.  I am very active in a HCE  (home, community, education) group and am currently serving as president.  We do projects for our local school and community.  I have been an active Hospice volunteer for thirteen years, and have helped organize the past several class reunions.
I had many wonderful experiences growing up in the Enid school system.  I will always be grateful for the many dedicated teachers  that worked so hard.
I spent five years at Jackson school.  Learned many life lessons there.  Connie (Mauck) Wright and I became best friends.  Sixth grade I transferred to Garfield and Judy (Coker) Lippard became a very dear friend.  Then   on to Longfellow and Karen (Erickson) Large and Sharon (Erickson) Faulkner became dear friends.  The five of us all married  within six months and all stayed married to the same person until the untimely death of Karen in 2000.  The remaining  three of us I still consider very dear friends.
Life has been good. I try to enjoy and appreciate every day.
Hopefully we will have a memorable and enjoyable 50th reunion I

Erickson-Faulkner, Sharon '60Sharon K. (Erickson) Faulkner

After graduation and summer vacation, I worked in the Enid High School Activity Office as a secretary for Charles Lynch. Later I went to work on the accounts at Herzbergs Department Store as the book keeper.

In May of 1961, James and I were married. I worked in Enid while he was finishing college at Oklahoma State University (OSU). Following graduation in 1962, we moved to Waco Texas where he entered the Air Force as a 2nd Lt. and completed flight training. I spent 29 years as an Air Force wife and made 18 moves and lived in places from coast (CA) to coast (FL), and North (AK) to South (TX). We are blessed with two wonderful children, Eric (EHS 1984, OSU 1990, Masters from Colorado State 2002) and Jayme (Randolph AFB, TX 1989, OSU 1993, Oklahoma University 1998). As a mom, I did the typical things, attended football games, school chorus and band events.

Our son Eric attended OSU where he obtained an Architectural Engineering Degree. He has his own business (Wishing Rock Homes) in Boerne TX. He and Margie are the parents of our grandson Ethan. Our youngest, Jayme, completed her bachelors degree at Oklahoma State. She also attended the Oklahoma University Para Legal school and works as a Certified Legal Assistant for a local law firm. Jayme and her husband Shyler live in Enid.

After 29 years of moving around with the Air Force, James retired in 1991. We returned to Enid where he went to work at Vance AFB as a contract flight simulator instructor pilot. Since that time I have been actively involved with the Class of 1960 reunion committee. Many of you might remember my twin sister Karen. She passed away in 2000. She was a wonderful sister. Many of you knew my mom Bing Erickson. She passed away October 27, 2019 at 99 years and 9 months. It has been great visiting with many classmates. Hope to see many of you in September!
